Grade 9a Art

Page history last edited by Mrs. Train 12 years, 6 months ago

Welcome to 9a Art.

Your teacher is Mrs. Simma Goldreich. Mrs. Goldreich is a practicing artist with a Masters in Fine Art.

This course offers an overview of visual arts as a foundation for further study. You will become familiar with design principles and the expressive qualities of various materials through working with a range of materials, processes, techniques, and styles. You will learn and use methods of analysis and critique as you study the characteristics of particular art periods, a selection of Canadian art, and the art of other cultures. The emphasis in this course is on creating art works.

Most of the art-making will take place in class, however there will be one major project that will be completed outside of regular class time, an Independent Study Project (ISP) that will include a choice of intensive sketching or photography.  Grade 9 ISP details.
